DJ Kim Works

Kim graduated from art school and subsequently worked as a painter while in the Air Force. After losing his left arm in an accident, he traveled throughout the U.S. and South America and familiarized himself with Western landscapes. From a young age, he enjoyed depicting animals and continued to do so in his professional career. Many of his paintings portray farm animals, such as cattle and pigs; his cattle subjects are particularly popular. He employs lush, bright colors and thick palette knife strokes, perfect for creating the fluid feathers in his animal paintings. The three-dimensional quality of his work produces a highly realistic effect. Kim’s works are displayed in collections all over South America, Canada and the United States. He has continued to exhibit at Art Expo since 1996. Kim has also served as a consultant on westernization for various cultural committees in South Korea.
